The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will update residents about proposed upgrades to the Hopkins Landfill.  The City of Hopkins says the landfill's current cover system is not up to today's standards.

MnDOT to Close Lanes on 169 Monday Morning

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says drivers will encounter delays Monday.  They plan to shut down the left lanes of Highway 169  for up to four hours.

They'll be closed as part of the Highway 169 / I-494 interchange reconstruction project.

WEB FORECAST: Light Snowfall Should End Before Evening Commute

A light snowfall will last into the afternoon, but should end before the Friday evening commute.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Patrick Hammer predicts snowfall totals will be light with 1/2" to 1". Areas north of the Twin Cities toward Brainerd may see up to 2". 

16 Hopkins High Artists Honored in State Competition

16 Hopkins High School artists earned honors from the Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards.   In all, the students brought home four Golden Keys, five Silver Keys, and ten Honorable Mentions.

The Hopkins School District says the awards are the highest art recognition for art students in Minnesota.

Parks Offer Sleigh Rides, Snowshoeing, and Cross-Country Skiing for Valentines

The Three Rivers Parks District wants you to enjoy nature with your valentine.  It's offering several events in the coming weeks in honor of Valentines Day.

At Richardson Nature Center in Bloomington, there will be candlelight, chocolate and acoustic music.  At Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista, visitors can take a sleigh ride through the pastures.
